DENNIS ROLLINS’ BADBONE & CO. Dennis Rollins - perhaps best known for his work with Courtney Pine and The Jazz Warriors - brings a unique and exciting approach to the trombone in a repertoire of groove-based, funky dance music with jazz overtones. His impressive history of working with Baba Maal, Jamiroquai, US3, Brand New Heavies and Blur is understandable once you’ve heard him. Alongside Dennis’ mighty trombone sound you can hear former Tomorrow’s Warriors star Jay Phelps on trumpet and flugelhorn, Johnny Heyes on guitar, Zoltan Dekany on acoustic bass, Alex Morgan on keys and Sammy Hendricks on drums. Unsurprisingly, Dennis Rollins’ Badbone & Co has been nominated for the 2006 BBC Jazz Awards in the Jazz Line up Best Band category.
